Quick Post: Top Tinted Moisturizers

Summer is coming soon, which is great! Sadly, along with summer comes sweat. Who wants their face to look oily and cakey? Definitely not me! Most foundations are very thick and tend to "melt" off your face. Even the lightest and creamiest foundations are thick compared to tinted moisturizers. Most people complain that tinted moisturizers don't give enough coverage but thats not true if you choose the right one. Some people mix foundation with their moisturizer but thats just a waste especially when there are a lot of affordable tinted moisturizers. So here are the tinted moisturizers that I have tested out and that I love!

Best Affordable Tinted Moisturizers:

1.) Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer, $11.50
2.) Wet N' Wild Ultimate Sheer Tinted Moisturizer, $3.99
3.) CoverGirl Smoothers SPF 15 Tinted Coverage, $7.70

Best Higher End Tinted Moisturizers:

1.) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, $42
2.) Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $34
3.) Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $30

Did you miss me? :)

Hey lovelies! Sorry about my little hiatus :) Its the same excuse over and over again: I'm busy. Now that school is starting again I don't even have time to do the things I love anymore like shopping, blogging, etc. GASP! I know :) Hopefully the blog will be back to its regular schedule. Thank you to the 33 of you who didn't give up on me, I am forever grateful. Before I go I want to FINALLY post the picture of my Juicy Couture watch. If you go back to previous posts I told you guys about my (then) new Juicy watch that I fell in love with...last year lol. Drumroll please...

The little clock hands glow in the dark too :) I ordered this from their website and the packaging was adorable! I've gotten lots of compliments too :D

How to: A Simple, Natural, Pretty Look

View Image

Hello beauties! Today, I'm going to show you step by step how to achieve a pretty yet natural look.

Step1: "I'm going to start with a fresh, clean face."

The easiest way to make your skin look fresh, gleaming, and natural is with a good tinted moisturizer.

How: Choose a good tinted moisturizer that won't make you look like a greaseball if you have oily skin and show your dry patches if you have dry skin. Every skin type needs a different tinted moisturizer. If you have a lot of acne scars and uneven skin tone its better to go with a tinted moisturizer with a medium to heavy coverage. If you younger and don't have that much acne scars then opt for a lighter coverage.

Step 2: "Next, I'm going to erase those dark circles"

All you need is some concealer, liner, and mascara. No need for any eyeshadow.

Get your favorite concealer and dab some on those dark circle, don't forget to blend well. Apply some black line on your upper lashes only so it looks more natural. Then, add some mascara.

Step 3: "Oh stop it! Your making me blush!"

Go for a bright, mousse-like blush, it looks more natural. No cream because it will make you look like a greaseball. No powder because it is way too heavy and looks more unnatural.

Take some of that mousse-like blush and dab it onto the apple of your cheeks. Smile to locate them. Blend upward toward the temples.

Step 4: "Gimme my lip stuff!"

Absolutely no lip gloss, way to shiny. Not natural at all. No lipstick either, too cakey. We are aiming for a sheer lip liner and some tinted lip balm.

Line you lips with a sheer pencil and then dab on some of that tinted balm to enhance you lip color.

Step 5: Get ready for the compliments!

People are obviously going to comment on how great you skin looks with no makeup or how you have practically no dark circles. But of course you know the secret ;)

xoxo,
Jessica

P.S. I wish I could show you some pictures of the finished look but if you follow me on Twitter then you know that I tried a new Clinique product and it completely broke me out.

Sorry guys!

Really sorry that I haven't been updating my blog or tweeting that much on Twitter! I'm in California now and I've been really busy so I don't think I'll be able to update that much but I will whenever I can. I will be updating normally again when I come back from California which will be in late July. I know that's a long time and I apologize but my schedule is hectic! I'm working my butt off right now but it will be worth it one day when people will know my name in the fashion industry :)

Lots of love,
Jessica

Glamour Tip #1: Vaseline

Vaseline

Vaseline may be just petroleum jelly but this little product can do many things. some of you might already know some of these tips but for those who don't I hope this helps you. Here are some simple and easy ways to use it:

Blue transparent toothbrush on white backgroundView ImageView Image
1.) Exfoliate Slather some Vaseline onto your lips, take a toothbrush and brush it onto your lips. Don't brush to hard but just enough to remove the dead skin cells on your lips. It can be a regular toothbrush or an electric one. This makes your lips softer.

View ImageView Image

2.) Restore or Renew and make into lip gloss or shiny cream shadow. If you have any cracked or unwanted blush or eyeshadow why not use them for something else? Get a dish/bowl and squirt some Vaseline into it. Then, take your cracked/unwanted eyeshadow/blush and mix it with the Vaseline. You can add more pigments for the intensity of the color, if you want. Mix thoroughly using a plastic spoon and make sure there are no chunks of eyeshadow/blush left. Test the color out and see if you like it. Then scoop it up with a spoon and transfer it to a small jar, etc. For the jar if you used the mineral eyeshadow/blush like this:

Then just take the sifter out of the jar and place the lip gloss/shiny cream eyeshadow in there.

That's all I have for now but if I find any more uses for Vaseline I will do an update. Hope this helped you guys!

Jessica

I Won GGGKeri's Giveaway!

Hello beauties! I'm so excited because guess what?!

I won GGGKeri's Giveaway!

Oh crap...I sort of gave it away with the title of this posts didn't I...lol

Anyways, GGGKeri had a Candles by Victoria Giveaway and I entered by commenting:

"The only candle I have bought so far from Victoria is the Honey, I Washed The Youngins' candle which is the absolute perfect dupe for for Lush's Honey, I Washed The Kids Soap. When I first heard that this candle smelled exactly like the soap I didn't believe it. I thought "Well, there probably is at least a little difference" but I was totally wrong, it smells exactly like the soap! I really want to win this because Coco Lime Verbena was my second choice to buy and because I love Coconut lime Verbena form Bath & Body Works. Coco lime Verbena is obviously the dupe for it. I hope I win! :) *Crossing my fingers*

xoxo,
Jessica

P.S.Thanks for having this giveaway!"

Now this portion will be dedicated to GGGKeri. (By dedicated I mean me rambling on and on about how great she is! :) I responded to the post by saying:

"Thanks so much! You're the best! Of course I read your blog! It is not crap, trust me I don't follow people who write crap ;)Love the "I only burned it a little" joke :D

Loyal reader & fan!
Jessica"

If you had no clue what I meant, then go to her blog and find out!

Poll Results: What is your favorite makeup brand?

Hey again! So I'm going to close my recent poll and give the results early because I've gotten a decent amount of votes and I'm very impatient ;)

Question:

What is your favorite makeup brand?

MAC 66% (14 votes)
Nars 4% (1 vote)
Chanel 4% (1 vote)
NYX 9% (2 votes)
Clinique 0%
Spell Cosmetics 0%
Other 14% (3 votes)

Its obvious that MAC won! A new poll is up and don't forget to vote!

Love,
Jessica

Go check out my Zoya MatteVelvet post down there

Zoya MatteVelvet Nail Polish

Lately pretty much every nail polish brand is coming out with matte nail polishes, in my recent post I blogged about OPI coming out with matte polishes too. Zoya's MatteVelvet comes in three colors:
Loredana (ZP498) - all out glam gray
Dovima (ZP499) - striking black

Posh (ZP500) - pinup pretty deep red

Description on the website:
"The Zoya MatteVelvet collection brings back this retro look with an updated Limited Edition collection of three gloss free hues. Unique matte shimmer formula makes them ultra-wearable and uber-stylish!"

The red looks pretty cute, i might buy it but we'll see. The OPI mattes look better to me though. How about you? Planning to buy anything from this collection? Feedback in the commenting box!

Jessica

P.S. Only 8 (or nine, have to check) more days until I'm in sunny California! Yay! :)
